I think that getting engaged is probably as good a reason as any to get back on the blogging wagon.  If the American Girl Place qualified this certainly does.  I’ll include some photos and the highlights.Friday, October 19, 2007I woke up to a card from Adam announcing a Fall Getaway.  He designed the card himself, and my favorite part is a simple line drawing of a flower that he created in Illustrator.  It’s green with one perfect red petal.  So creative that boy…After lunch at Le Colonial, and an afternoon wandering through the Art Institute, we headed over to the Cultural Center.  He proposed as we were sitting on the mosaic marble staircase just outside the main room.  It was perfect.  Adam’s grandfather used to work in that building when it was a library.  The personal piece made it even more special.We had a wonderful dinner at Coco Pazzo - good food, good wine, big smiles!  Mara surprised us by calling the restaurant and taking care of the bill.  Thanks so much for doing that Mara.  It was unexpected and incredibly thoughtful!
